Teriyaki Pork Stirfry
Teriyaki Pork Stirfry
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: 5-6

Ingredients
500g lean pork strips
1 cup teriyaki marinade
2 tbsp oil
1 onion cut into wedges
500g stir fry vegetables, prepared
300g fresh thick hokkien noodles
2 cups boiling water
½ a cup extra teriyaki marinade
Method
- Combine the pork strips and the teriyaki marinade, cover and allow to marinate for 10 minutes.
- Pour 2 cups boiling water over hokkien noodles and soak for 3 minutes before draining.
- Preheat wok or frying pan for 2 minutes over medium heat. Add a little oil, stir fry pork in 2 batches, remove and keep warm.
- Add remaining oil, stir fry vegetables for 3-4 minutes.
- Toss in drained hokkien noodles and extra teriyaki marinade and stir fry for further 2-3 minutes.
- Return pork to wok and toss for 3-4 minutes until warmed and well mixed. Serve in warmed bowls.
- Tip: a cold beer is delicious with a stir fry – or you could complement the Japanese flavour of teriyaki with sake, served either ice cold or warmed.

The Raw End
From fast food addiction and stockpiled frozen meals, to veganism and organic advocacy, modern food culture is marked with an infinite list of dietary habits.
The irony of this situation is that in an age of exceptional understanding about health and nutrition, we are eating in more varied ways than ever. The choices we make tend to repulse each other, ricocheting into strict dietary schools of thought, and conversely, into nutritional thoughtlessness.

“When you rush around in hopeless circles
Searching ev'rywhere for something true
You're at the age of not believing
When all the "make believe" is through
When you set aside your childhood heroes
And your dreams are lost up on a shelf
You're at the age of not believing
And worst of all you doubt yourself..”The only thing limiting what we can do with (our brains) is the limits we place on our beliefs about what we can do to change.
