The Australian Veg Food Guide 2011 is a glove-box sized nationwide food guide containing over 200 reviews and information about vegan, vegetarian and veg friendly restaurants Australia-wide.
This is the second edition by editor Lisa Dempster with the first Melbourne edition being a sell-out.
There's a handy index in the back listing all the restaurants alphabetically, and the book is divided up state by state. Some of the restaurants have reviews contributed by contributors around the nation, and the rest have easy to understand icons advising for example whether they accept credit card, if vegan, wheat free along with general restaurant information such as opening and closing times.
A selection Australia-wide include Eggless Dessert Cafe, SA; Natural Tucker, VIC; 20,000 Cows Vegetarian House, NSW; Ruchi, ACT; Sirens, TAS; Loving Hut, QLD; Tea Shrine, NT and some of the WA restaurants featured are the Juicy Beetroot Cafe, Flipside, One World Cuisine and Utopia.
The Radical Grocery Store, Brunswick in VIC has the inside front cover position and looks well worth a visit if you're in the area specialising in vegan, organic, fairtrade, recycled, reusable, natural and local products.
